AXIAL FORMING MACHINE CONSTRUCTION

AXIAL FORMING OF TUBES AND BARS:

A forming cylinder moves over the die or onto the end of the workpiece. The forming length is determined by the stroke of the forming piston and the position of the workpiece, while workpiece geometry is determined by the forming die, mandrel and chuck jaws. As both the die and the workpiece are fixed against rotational movements, it is also possible to produce asymmetric or eccentric forms.

PULSATION FORMING TO REDUCE FORCE NEEDED FOR AXIAL FORMING

The pulsation forming process adds an oscillating movement to the application of static pressure, the frequency and amplitude of which can be adjusted across an infinitely variable range.

 

This superimposed frequency greatly enhances the flow characteristics of the material being formed.
