Machine examples Rolling Machines
PROCESS

Besides forming of tubes and bars, HMP is well-known as manufacturer of machines for forming of wire with a high reliability and quality of products. This range of machines covers drawing machines, rolling machines, coiling machines and special machines for straightening and cutting of wires.

Drawing: The workpiece is drawn through an enclosed and stationary die and thereby reduced in its cross-section.
Roll Frames: Instead of an enclosed and stationary die, there can continuously adjustable dies be used with rotating rollers. Depending upon the application, steel or tungsten carbide rollers are used.
Longitudinal Rolling: The workpiece is pulled through the rollers in perpendicular orientation to the roller axis and without rotation. If the rollers are having a cylindrical or tapered shape in the workpiece contact area, then the process is called flat rolling. In case of all other shapes of the contact area the process is called profile rolling.
The above pictures show some examples of profiles produced by rolling. The shown profiles are used in the production of spectacle frames for the optical industry. In the range of flat rolling applications, HMP produces machines for rolling of strips with extremely high precision.
