Infeed Swaging:

The workpiece is fed axially at a constant rate of speed through the oscillating dies. The feed takes place when the rollers are between the strikers as only during this time the dies are open. Most of the forming energy is concentrated in the tapered section of the dies. The cylindrical section of the dies is used for calibration of the reduced diameter. The maximum achievable taper angle may be restricted by the column strength of the workpiece. There is no limit on the length of the reduced cylindrical diameter.
