AXIAL FORMING PROCESS:
The axial forming cylinder moves the die over or against the end of the workpiece. The forming length is determined by the stroke of the piston and by the axial position of the workpiece. The external forming die and / or the internal forming mandrel and the form of the clamping segments of the chuck determine the formed shape. Both the die and the workpiece are fixed against rotational movements. Therefore it is possible to produce also asymmetric or eccentric forms.

An oscillating movement is overlaid to the static pressure, which is continously variable in frequency and amplitude. This frequency overlay leads to substantially more favorable flow characteristics of the material during the forming process.
MACHINE CONSTRUCTION:
HMP builds axial forming machines in modular horizontal, as well as vertical design with specific care to meet the needs of our customer. The modular machine construction enables to integrate these machines into HMP multi-station transfer machines which may consist of several hydraulic forming stations and also of other types of stations such as rotary swaging stations, etc.
The die slide can take up several forming dies for instance for production of several different forming steps in one machine cycle. |
